2026 Dauphin Island Native American Experience

Saturday March 28 @ 9 AM – 5PM at Historic Fort Gaines

Join us for a meaningful, family-friendly celebration of Native American culture, tradition, and history at the 2026 Dauphin Island Native American Experience—a full day of hands-on learning, live demonstrations, and cultural exchange set against the historic backdrop of Fort Gaines.

Spend the day exploring the vibrant heritage of Native American tribes from the Poarch Creek Band of Indians, the Florida Seminole Tribe, and more. Meet tribal members and living historians as they share traditions passed down through generations.
What to Expect:
  • Interactive stickball demonstrations
  • Hands-on pottery making and beadwork
  • Native American dancing and drumming
  • Live canoe carving by Seminole tribal members
  • Cultural exhibits and artisan crafts available for purchase

Your ticket also includes access to multiple screenings of the Emmy Award–winning documentary The Forgotten Creeks, along with a self-guided tour of Historic Fort Gaines and the immersive Native American Experience—filled with engaging exhibits and activities for all ages.

  • Ages 13 and older: $15
  • Ages 5-12: $10
  • Ages 4 and younger: Free
